本研究では，動画中のイヌに対する情動認識システムの開発を目指している．イヌの情動ラベル付きデータセットを大規模に得ることは難しい．また，動画撮影時にイヌは動き，フレームアウトや遮蔽が生じてしまう．これらの問題点の克服のために，本研究では犬種のデータセットで事前学習済みの弱教師あり学習モデルを，イヌの情動認識に利用する．本発表では，その基礎的検証内容としてイヌの3種類の情動についての認識結果を報告する．

Dogs are a very familiar animal to us humans, but research on their cognition, behavior, and emotions is still actively being conducted. Among them, attempts at quantitative evaluation of their behavior have shown progress in recent years with the development of advanced machine learning methods. Input information used includes images, videos, physiological signals such as electrocardiograms, and inertial sensor signals. In this paper, we introduce the results of a survey on methods that use images and videos, which are frequently used because they are easy to measure. Image/video processing for dogs covers a wide range, including detection of the dog body region, pose estimation, and emotion recognition. In this paper, we give an overview of these processing methods and report our preliminary test of the applicability of a part of these methods.

The guidelines for heat illness prevention in Japan suggest rest and rehydration based on the heat index (WBGT) to prevent heat illness during sports. However, even with such guidelines, the number of heat illness patients has not decreased yet. We analyzed the relationship between hydration and heart rate variability (HRV) of 40 subjects measured with a wearable heart rate device. Four HRV indicators investigated (NN50, pNN50, HF, LF/HF) showed changes after drinking water. The indices of the parasympathetic nervous system (NN50, pNN50, HF) showed that the value increased 1 to 5 minutes after drinking water, and the effect continued until 20 minutes later. The index of the sympathetic nervous system (LF/HF) increased only around drinking water, and the effect disappeared after 1 minute. These results suggested that the effect of drinking water on the sympathetic nervous system appears rapidly and that the effect on the parasympathetic nervous system is sustained.

楽曲が人の感情にどのように影響を及ぼすのか、歌詞解析と心拍変動分析を用いて検証する。歌詞解析では歌詞の感情極性判定を行い、心拍変動分析には統計的アプローチや機械学習を併用して聴取者の感情分類を行う。本発表ではその予備的調査について報告する。

うつ病に関連する脳の構造的異常についてこれまで様々な報告がなされてきたが、治療効果や環境的要因の影響も大きく、バイオマーカになり得るだけの決定的な結論には未だ至っていない。本研究では、治療効果の影響が少ないと考えられる抑うつエピソード発症早期のうつ病患者群と健常対照群の脳の構造的な差異についてvoxel-based morphometry (VBM)法を用いて解析し、先行研究の再現性を検証した。

Since the curriculum in this faculty covers a variety of areas including sociology, economics, psychology, and information science, students pursue a myriad of topics in their theses. In this paper, the thesis titles from the Faculty for the Study of Contemporary Society were analyzed.

京都女子大学現代社会学部では、2000年の学部創立以来、Rubyによるプログラミング教育を行ってきた。さらに、2013年からは、Rubyを使ったWebアプリケーション製作のフレームワークであるRuby on Railsを授業に取り入れてきた。これらのソフトウェアはオープンソースソフトウェアとして開発されている。 そこで、本ノートでは、オープンソースとは何かについて触れ、さらに、京都女子大学におけるプログラミング教育や京都女子大学で行われたイベントRails Girlsについて述べる。
Programming education with the Ruby programming language has been conducted since the Department for the Study of Contemporary Society was founded at Kyoto Women's University （KWU） in 2000. In addition, Ruby on Rails, a web application development framework based on Ruby, has also been included in the curriculum in 2013. Both Ruby and Ruby on Rails are examples of open-source software. In this research note, first a background on open-source development is provided, and then programming education at KWU and Rails Girls events held at KWU are described.
