令和3年度は、コロナ禍で2年続けて延期となっていた、台湾での国際ワークショップ（"Reading Dharmapala and Bhaviveka" Workshop；National Chengchi University）がオンラインにて開催される運びとなり、研究報告を行うことが出来た。また、前年度から継続していた、プラジュニャーカラグプタにおける刹那滅論の研究についても、その文献学的研究の成果を公表することが出来た。更にまた、2018年8月にオーストリアで開催された国際ワークショップでの研究成果を、予定どおり、年度末に出版することが出来た。
台湾のワークショップでは、Nagarjunaの『中論』第19章「時間の考察」の冒頭第1偈から第3偈に関するBhavivekaの解釈について考察し、彼が、BuddhapalitaとDevasarman、更には従来Sthiramatiと見なされていた敵者の3人の対論者を斥ける理論について評価した。また、従来Sthiramati説とされてきた前主張は説一切有部の説と解すべきことを論じた。それに加えて、チベット語訳Prajnapadipaと漢訳『般若灯論』、そして青目釈『中論』、それぞれの、第19章第1偈から第3偈までの部分を比較し、漢訳『般若灯論』は青目釈『中論』を「利用」「参照」していることを論証した。
プラジュニャーカラグプタの刹那滅論研究では、彼が刹那滅論の証明を、直接知覚の、過去と未来と混じり合った現在の対象を把握しないという働きから、裏付けているということを明らかにした。彼の知覚理論は、現代哲学における、知覚と時間認識の関係をめぐる諸理論に興味深い視点を提供するものであろうと思われるが、令和3年度の研究では、その点まで研究を進めることは出来なかった。
