昨年度に引き続き、COVID-19の影響で遅延していた英米圏からのデータ回答の整理や、既にデータを取得していた機関の中でも新たに判明したデータなどについてはその追加分の目録編纂を実施した。現状では英米で合計160館余の目録編纂が終了している。またCOVID-19の影響で先方での確認作業が終了していない機関が多数存在するため、その確認などを随時実施した。これらの機関の中でも、特に米国に所蔵されている機関については、日米間の国際交流の記録資料となるものが多く、これらの内容を「外交活動」「実業・財界活動」「研究・教育活動」「災害記録及び支援活動」「布教・伝道活動」「移住・開拓活動」といった分類を行った上で、各分類に属する写真の概要などを紹介し、こうした交流の記録や記憶を継承するためのアーカイビングをどのように実施していくかについて考察した論文を執筆した。（『情報研究』55号に掲載予定）また英国の写真については、Middlesex UniversityのMuseum of Domestic Design & Architecture (MoDA)に収蔵されて京都や一部名古屋などの社寺を写した写真資料の調査を実施していたが、一部については被写体を確定し、概ね明治10年～20年代の写真であることを確認した。京都や名古屋の寺社も明治の中期頃までに写された写真は少数で、海外に遺る貴重な写真資料であることが判明した。また、大英博物館に所蔵される写真から、明治後期における写真師小川一眞と八官町の博文堂の協業の様子が判明し、これらの成果を21年8月に行田市郷土博物館での待講演「行田出身の三兄弟『原田庄左衛門・小川一眞・小林忠治郎』と近代日本の出版・写真文化」で報告した。 また、上記のMoDAの調査において手がかりになった建造物の写真などをガイドラインの付録に付与する事などの検討を行った。

Under this research theme we shared a history of an exchange between Japan and Germany ( included in Prussia ) with 3 periods and reorganized a history of relation of two countries, targeted from a Meiji restoration ( Meiji-isin ) period to the Japan-Germany Anti-Comintern Pact ( Nichi-doku bokyo kyotei ) conclusion period, or from 1860s to 1860s. A conventional history study of the exchange between Japan and Germany was mainly drawn based on document materials of politicians and scholars. On the other hand we investigated, collected and analyzed historical photo materials such as materials of media and relevant document materials in Germany and Japan, and emphasized the angle of citizens of both countries under the research theme. In Germany we investigated especially the archive of Trautz ( possessed by the University of Bonn) and the archive of the Grau family ( possessed by Mr. Helmut Grau ) and collected historical photo, picture materials and related document materials in them.

The purpose of this research was to propose a method that enables historians of modern science to collect and archive historical materials systematically and efficiently. In order to be practical, historical materials relating to a geologist Seitaro Tsuboi were investigated as an actual example, which were collected and archived in the Multi-media and Socio-information Studies Archive, the University of Tokyo.
The research has revealed that the Materials are quite valuable for the history of Japanese geology. The research has also demonstrated that clustering historical materials in terms of researchers, in this case Seitaro Tsuboi, can add more values on the materials. -

he framework of cataloging rules in libraries were establishedfrom the 1960’s to the 1970’s. Now the framework became old and must be rebuilt inconsequence of the rapid digitization and networking of information. In this study,keeping this situation in mind, we examined and analyzed the “conceptual model” whichis regarded as the foundation of cataloging rules, and the movement of the catalogingprinciple and cataloging rules, both of which are based on the model. And we also examinethe direction of cataloging rules in Japan, especially paying attention to the catalogingrules in other East Asian countries.

The outline of this research was verification of the validity of the system providing name authority file to Digital Cultural Heritage using web servise. In this research, demonstration experiments were carried out to provide name authority file for Digital Cultural Heritage server B from authority file server A using API. And the validity of the model was proved by demonstration experiments.
In the server A, the function to search the common profile and human relationship network was implemented. This search function was realized by analyzing the common ground based on organization, family and date of birth. And in this function, the shortest human relationship of the blood and teacher-student relationship between the targets persons was indicated. This system made it possible to assist clearing the human relationship network in short.
In the concrete, name authority file about imperial, aristocrat and photographer family was stored in server A. And in the server, digitized picture postcard and old historical photograph were stored. And these materials were researched in representation studies and validity of this system utilizing the name authority file was proved.
In this research, as mentioned above, the ground model which name authority file assembled in single server and provided to Digital Cultural Heritage was presented. And the validity and practical utilizing method of this model was proved by demonstration experiments. This consequence of research had beneficial meaning to indicate concrete method arranging and utilizing name authority file in Japan. -
The study of social model of the nobility in Meiji era, based in historical informatics

We completed enumeration survey to the visiting card size pho-tographs(otherwise known as "Carte de Visite" in French) in Japan and outside, and dig-itized them. Through our research results using digital data of them, we analyzed the process of saving, consumption, production and distribution of visiting card size photo-graphs, and focused on the production of visual image and its connection to the public through the print medium. We tried to rebuild communication model and the social model of people who were well-placed socially in the Meiji era. Through these researches, we de-coded "historical information" from photographic materials that were ever utilized inade-quately as historical materials to lay the foundation for building the new historical and social image.

As the publication of cultural resource information centered on historical documents and cultural resources continues to progress though media such as the internet, it is necessary to manage and organize personal name information thereof and to effect the identification of personal name authority file on the web to make possible efficient and comprehensive searches.
Moreover, historical and social networks-such as bloodlines, shared territorial bonds, master-disciple relationships, relationships between students of the same professors, school ties, etc.-possess information related to the names of people of the past. Authoritative information sources, by storing such information, are also more useful for searching and researching materials on electronic networks.
To this end, this research, which emphasizes consideration of information found in historical and societal networks, builds an authoritative information source that stores basic information related to each person and promotes the identification of personal names on the digital network.
