    We had studied about the establishment of faculty of safety science based on the model of interdisciplinary education model. We investigated the education curriculum and education program on the domestic and foreign universities which had the faculty or the department of the safety science or the disaster management. The education and training system to the profession was prepared into the places outside the university as well as university education in the U.K. A professional organization or local government might played a big role, and it was revealed that it were dependent on the collaboration between the university and an on-site professional organization whether we could perform the safety science education and training to students.

Devising educational methods

  • 毎回授業について課題を与えてレポートを提出させ理解度を確認し、あわせて次の授業の予習課題を与えて、次の授業開始時に提出させた後に、授業をすすめている。提出後、内容のチェックし、不十分なものについて再提出を求めている。また、授業の中で、映像収録したDVD教材を用いて、視覚的に認識できるような工夫を行った。

Special notes on other educational activities

  • 大学院生の教育において、社会で活躍している人との交流と議論の場を設ける工夫を行っている。 また、平成23年度関西大学重点領域研究の中の「大学における教育と研究」の領域の中で「社会安全に関する文理融合型大学教育と学際的研究基盤の確立」について研究代表者として、国内外の大学教育の調査研究と、教育のあり方を検討し、本学の学部・研究科教育につなげるための大学教育向上の取り組みを行っている。
