１、『小野篁歌字尽』諸本の漢字集成とその索引の作成をおこなった。以前紹介した、行間に遺訓を多数もつ大型本を基本として、増補本をのぞく大型本、中型本、小型本に所収の漢字彙一覧データを作成し、これに音訓を付して索引機能を付与し、検索にたえる基礎データを作成した。全136項目667字。検算、確認作業を行っていないので公開には至らなかったが、2022年度中には公開予定である。
２、『小野篁歌字尽』の影響下になった資料群の資料総覧を作成して、書誌調査と主な資料については画像の収集をおこなった。Ⅰ小野篁歌字尽の増補、Ⅱ小野篁歌字尽のパロディー、Ⅲ小野篁歌字尽の展開資料、さらにⅢを戯作と艶本とに分類し、全20点の作品を確認し、とくに重要な『廓〓[竹冠に愚]費字尽』『小野〓[竹冠に愚]〓[言篇に虚]字尽』『無筆節用似字尽』については、諸本の校合を済ませて注解作業に入っている。『小野〓[竹冠に愚]〓[言篇に虚]字尽』については、2022年度に論文を公開予定。
３、浮世絵の文字については、資料の収集が遅れていたが、年度末に着手しはじめ、幕末から明治にかけての戯作者の文章を含む浮世絵資料約30点を収集し、その書誌調査、文字形態の分類を終え、2022年度に研究会を立ち上げ、「浮世絵と文字」と題して口頭発表の準備を進めている。
４、計画にはなかったが、近世期の和歌資料の文字環境について、資料調査をおこない、未紹介の契沖の和歌資料４点の報告と岡山藩主池田家三代の資料の展示、「岡山藩主池田家三代の手蹟」（2021.12.10～2022.1.19、於関西大学博物館）をおこなった。後者では大名の日常の絵と文字による文筆活動が具体的にうかがうことができ、これらは本研究の中心テーマである「文字生活史」の具体的な事例研究と位置付けることができる。今後、この種の調査と報告も順次進めていく予定である。 -

主として訓点資料（日本書紀古訓を含む）を中心とした訓詁による表記体分析（表記に対応する語彙と語構成の検討）を進めた。訓字表記の傾向を観察し、その固定性や典拠語のあり方を記述する中で思わぬ発見があった。たとえば、「沈」「鎮」はいずれもシヅムと訓じられるが語頭アクセントが異なり、シタ・シモ「下」の語構成とも相俟って「沈」と「鎮」のシヅムは語形成上は別語であるとみられる。この一連の検討の中で、アクセントの表示という観点から表記を観察する視点が得られた。万葉集では音節単位の変字法を含めても、語の仮名表記が二次的表語性を獲得する中で固定的な文字列による「語の表記体」を形成する傾向にある。その場合、アクセントと仮名字母選択が相関するか否かの検証が必要である。とくに日本書紀歌謡で確認できる「仮借」由来の借音仮名群、単音節の借訓仮名群がアクセントとの相関の有無の検証は計画にはなかったが、新視点として今期に得られた結果である。仮にアクセントに対応した仮名表記があれば、より「仮借」的であるといえようし、原音声母と無関係に清濁に両用するのはより「仮名」的であるということになる。加えて、日本書紀、古事記、萬葉集の「語の表記体」を観察すると、借音仮名にあって「妣」のように清濁仮名の両用例が散見される。「妣」は木下正俊（1965）「手火の清濁」（『萬葉』56）の指摘があるが、橋本四郎（1959）「「ことば」と「字音假名」―上代語の清濁を中心に―」（『萬葉』30号）が指摘したように表語性との関わりから課題が多い。アクセントや清濁の表記は語の表記体中の「仮名」であることを示す点で、仮名の用法から仮名の文字への転換の指標になるのかもしれない。今期は学外調査が十分に行えない環境であったが、Zoom、slackを活用して一定の成果を得ることができた。

万葉集仙覚校訂本の総合的研究―成立過程・校訂の方法・享受の様相の解明―

本研究は、万葉集仙覚校訂本について、①生成過程の研究、②仙覚の学問との関連、③後代の享受の様相の三つに分けて研究を行っている。
①では、目覚ましい進展があった。研究代表者田中大士は、『衝撃の『万葉集』伝本出現』を刊行し、万葉集仙覚校訂本に至るまでの経緯をまとめて公表した。これは、従来の仙覚校訂本生成の認識を大きく塗り替える成果として評価された。また、仙覚校訂本の伝本の一つである金沢文庫本万葉集の系統上の性格を明らかにした。この成果は、これまで全く不明であった仙覚校訂本の第一次校訂本（寛元本）以降の展開の様相を明らかにするうえで重要な手がかりを与える研究である。寛元本の伝本についても、古筆切研究の観点から、当時の伝本の姿を明らかにした。また、研究分担者の新沢典子が、寛元本系統の複数の伝本の関係を明らかにする研究を行い、寛元本研究に大きな進展をもたらした。
また、研究分担者大石真由香は、万葉集禁裏御本の研究を続けているが、その過程で、従来ほとんど伝本の存在が知られていなかった文永十年本以前の仙覚校訂本伝本を複数発掘している。
②は、仙覚の注釈書『万葉集注釈』と仙覚校訂本との比較により、仙覚の校訂方針、読解の方法をあぶりだす作業を行っている。ただし、コロナ禍の影響で、成果発表ができていない。
③は、研究協力者の甲斐温子が、中世の万葉集関係の歌書『万葉類葉抄』を多角的に調査し、学会誌などに発表している。また、江戸期の万葉集平仮名傍訓本については、新出の伝本を購入し（日本女子大学本）、また、獨協大学所蔵の伝本の写真も入手し、調査の範囲を全体７本（従来５本）に拡大し、調査を進展させた。調査対象が増えることにより、平仮名傍訓本全体の様相が明らかになりつつある。成果は、研究協力者の古澤彩子により口頭発表された。なお、全体の調査は、研究協力者の若手研究者複数人によって遂行されている。 -

We presented that we can get a new method for the study of Old Japanese lexcon with the reconsideration of all descriptions in "Jidaibetsu Kokugo Daijiten Jodaihen"(the dictionary of old Japanese in 7~8C period). We can rewrite this dictionary with contemporary level in the studing this branch, so we get new scene of the study of Old Japanese lexcon.

Hentaikanbun,that is a way ancient Japanese writing, is not expressive of a speech. Only with writing in Kana,we can express a speech.We can only argue about a style of ancient prose style by something written in Kana.The reason why, we could not have prose style without estabrishment of Hiragana.Hentaikanbun is a mixed style of writing in Japanese and in Chinese, and Wakankonkoubun is a mixed style of language, used in Kanbunkundoku and used in daily life.The two method are common in mixed style in Chinese and Japanese.We can see the respective method of mixing of Chinese and Japanese in respective period. The style of many literary works written in Hiragana in early Heian period is not pure Japanese but Wakankonkoubun. After that, in 11th century,Wabunestabrished from Wakankonkoubun,and 12th century, Wakankonkoubun in middle ages(e.g. Heike Monogatari) estabrished by mixing Wabun and early Kanabun.

The use of Kanji for Kana in "Manyo-syu" is very different from the ordinary use in ancient rublic official. This study disclosed that Manyo-syu have a basic use and advanced use of Kana, and basic use connect to Hiragana. The kana-use of Kanji derives from Korea, but Kana-chracter don't established in Korea. This is derived from the difference of structure of syllable between Korea and Japanese.

This study clarified how was the correlation of letters, characters and style in Japanese history.
On the "Kana"characters;In the priod of only use of Chinese characters, "Kana" for phonetic use of Kanji characters functioned as describe some phonetic element of Japanese in Chinese sentens. It was thought that. "Kana" in Kojiki,Nihonsyoki, Manyoshu and in Shosoin-monjo,mokan, existed separately so far.But they have common base in "Kana"use.In particular,writing of poem and writing of private letters,they have common base for the "Kana"of Japanese characters from "Kana' for phonetic use of Kanji characters.
On the style of Japanese writing; In the priod of Heian and Kamakura,It was established the style as mixture sentence of Japanese and Chinese,Wakannkonkoubun (和漢混淆文) . , and it could transform writing form;hiragana,katakana,kanji,bitween three forms. "Sanpoe (三宝絵) "have three texts,hiragana,kanji and katakana,kanji only,and "Heike-monogatari (平家物語) " have several texts in same three method, hiragana,kanji and katakana,kanji only.I conpared three texts of "Sanpoe (三宝絵) ",and indicated that hiragana-text inclde some elements of kanbunkundoku (漢文訓読) ,but they are different from elements of kanbunkundoku that kanji-katakana text have. And a opposite case, kanji-katakana text haveh some elements of wabun (和文) in the same.That is to say,the transformation of writing form corsed the change of style. -

The main investigation results obtained by this project's principal investigator and his co-investigators are summarized as follows : i) KINSUI Satoshi and his collaborators have shown that the development/transition process of case particles and the structural change process of nominal phrases in Japanese can be clearly revealed by introducing a syntactic viewpoint.ii) OSHIKA Tadahisa has argued that the essence of Old Japanese adnominal nari lay in its predicative force which assigns predicativity to expressions originally lacking such a force.iii) TAKAYAMA Michiaki has argued that hypermeter in "waka" (classical Japanese poetry) stems from its chanting style, not a direct reflect of the language's intrinsic nature. iv) INUI Yoshihiko has examined in detail how "waka" were written in a wide variety of Old Japanese linguistic materials to consider the relationship between "waka" writing and the formation of "kana" (Japanese native script). v) Based on the analysis of d'ata collected from a variety of historical and dialectal linguistic materials, ABE Seiya has shed new light on part of the 'fundamental lexical structure of Japanese taste adjectives. vi) MAEDA Hiroyuki has shown that a generative phonological framework (including Optimality Theory) is fruitfully applicable to the analysis of Japanese language history and given a phonological interpretation to a sequence of melody notes in a version of musically noted Heiko Monogatari text.

In this project for 3years, we knew that the style of Japanese writing system with Chinese characters and Japanese characters (so-called "kanjikanamajiri") was created from "Hentaikanbun (A transformed Chinese in Japan)" and adding Japanese words in "Senmyogaki (A Writing system for Senmyo)"
"Hentaikanbun (A transformed Chinese in Japan)" is a style of usual writing in Nara and Heian period, and we have many material for historical studies of Japanese writing system in "Syosoinmonjo" and "Heianibun" we pick out and compiled the document adding "Senmyogaki" and "Kana (Japanese characters)" from those material for historical studies of Japanese writing.
We can comprehend that "Wakankonkoubun (A style in Japanese, it used in "Heikemonogatari")" is a special result of "Hentaikanbun (A transformed Chinese in Japan)" and adding Japanese words in "Senmyogaki (A Writing system for Senmyo)"
