In order to reconstructing Chinese colloquial sounds from a historical perspective and reassessing the system, we found a certain processing method for handling of vocabulary that uses kanji (Chinese characters) only as a phonetic means in colloquial materials . For example, "田常"this word was used only as a phonetic transcription that means "填償(compensation)" , but it should not be erased as a misprint, must be linked to each other. We have shown that this is a valuable phonetic material that can clarify the phonological system of colloquial language. In this way, the method for the public release of "the index of Chinese modern and colloquial vocabulary " on web was established.

In this research, we focus on collections containing many small fragments, which were excaveted in the Silk Road, which many researchers have been setted aside a long time, and find out a large number of cases where the documents collate across collections.Thus we create a new Paleography in East Asia. There are many cases of rejoining across collections in a wide range of genres, such as Chinese Buddhist scriptures, Uyghur texts, legal texts, Sanskrit texts, medical books,and so on. In addition to that, through investigation of expeditionary party diary, we establish how to handle historical documents. It is concluded that the reason why the documents rejoin across the collections is due to split purchases by multiple expeditionary teams in the field.

The Chinese texts of the manuscripts handed down in Japan have their origin in Sui-Tang period. It is important to point out that the Japanese old manuscripts often preserve the whole contents in comparison with the Dunhuang and Turfan fragments. An attempt is made in this project to dig up as many old manuscripts as possible of the Chinese texts and to conduct a scientific research on the dates, process of transmission, physical form, paper, presence of facsimile editions, previous works, etc. of the manuscripts. After putting the manuscripts into order, an authentic catalogue of the old Japanese manuscripts of the Chinese texts will be presented from Japan.

A Creative Study for New Paleography in East Asia: Applying Excavated Documents from West China Resident in East and North Europe

This study elucidated relationships of unearthed documents from Turpan which are resident in East and North Europe and not much utilized comparing with other collections, while their existence has been known: we applied an interdisciplinary and new method to conduct a systematic analysis for the first time and grasped, categorized, and integrated numerous and fragmentary materials. On the occasion of integration of these materials we also devised the way of using of the new database which we have constructed. As a result, we could create a basement for a new science of historical materials or paleography in East Asia.

Chinese old manuscripts now kept in Russia were mainly discovered around the beginning of the 20th century at the archaeological sites such as Dunhuang, Turfan etc., compared with the ones in England, France and Germany, have not yet been pated enough attention so far. In this research program, Chinese manuscripts of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, Russian Academy of Sciences, in St. Petersburg, wereinvestigated on-the-spot and studied in cooperation with Russian scholars. Many data were accumulated in order to supplement the existing catalogue and to compile a complete new catalogue.。

In this study, five researchers, referring to recent theories of modern Chinese, examined and analyzed the characteristics of various grammatical categories and constructions of the Chinese language in five historical periods. Through analysis and discussion, we discovered differences in the characteristics of each period and the mechanisms which generated these differences. We also discovered universal features, as well as grammatical and semantic parameters, that have remained essentially unchanged throughout the development of the Chinese language from its ancient to its modern form.

We study "Various Aspect of the Mandarin Language in the l9th Century" with the approaching of he Peripheral Materials (Europe, Korean, Ryukyuan, and Japanese). We think that this Peripheral approaching method is effective for the study of the Mandarin Language. Because through this method we can find the fact that the native speakers cannot find or cannot notice. The proverb say that One must go abroad from news of home We published the book of the "Various Aspects of the Chinese Language in the 191 Century" (2007), this is one of our researched result. We also made the Database of Pre-modern. Chinese Document on our web. We believe that this also is contribution to study.

周辺書誌学からみる敦煌文書成書年代比定に関する研究

当初の計画通り11月1〜9日にBibliotheque nationale de France(Paris)でベリオ将来による敦煌文書のオリジナル文献に対する調査を行った。前年度の調査を通じて書誌形態とその内容に関して深い関連が認められることが明らかになったことにより、冊子本と疑經との関係を見るために『仏説天地八陽神呪経』のBNF所蔵全写本(昨年調査済みのP.3915を除く以下8種:P.2098、P.2181、P.3759、P.3897、P.3924、P.4571、P.5579、P.6016)を対象とし、影印資料では読み取れない紙質・墨の色・紙の貼り合わせの状態・貼り合わせ面の書写文字の有無・朱入れ状況・修正情報・資料保存状況などのデータを記録した。その中で、とりわけP.3759は成書時期の疑経受容状況を顕著に示す典型としてとらえられ、この資料について、参与している研究例会にて報告を行い、論考をまとめ公表した。
昨年度の調査結果に関しては、「BL調査報告-IDP公開資料とオリジナル調査の意義について」と題して報告を公開した。また、2006年9月に開催された南京師範大学、京都大学人文科学研究所などの連合主催による"転型期的敦煌学:継承与発展"国際学術研討会で「関於両種《佛説八陽神呪経》P.3915」の論題で行った口頭発表に関しても論文としてまとめ公表した。 -

It is needless to say that the semantic/structural properties of the various grammatical categories or grammatical constructions that can be found in modern Chinese today did not all exist in Chinese of previous times. Among them, some are panchronic properties that were passed down from the ancient era to modern days, whereas other properties have experienced various changes before their existence today. In this project five researchers refer to the outstanding analysis in recent studies of modern Chinese regarding the meaning and structure of the various grammatical categories/constructions, examine the pictures of different times in detail and discuss the findings, all together with the intention to clarify the differences between each era and the mechanism behind these changes. At the same time, this project is also aimed at finding out the universal properties of Chinese, which have stayed constant since ancient times, making it explicit that grammatical/semanticcategories that function panchronically do exist, and investigating the related parameters that motivated these categorizations.
In this project, which we started in 2004, five researchers that commonly share the previously-mentioned purposes examined a series of topics, such as word order, voice and aspect, in each one's designated era With a careful analysis of the first-hand data, we have revealed the situation of Chinese in different eras. The results, including the analyses written in the final report, provide important descriptive data as well as theoretical foundations by demonstrating the variety of Chinese grammar in its diachronic changes and also the panchronic universal properties that it possesses. Therefore, these results can contribute to the reconstruction of historical Chinese grammar. -
A Historical and Philological Study for Dunhuang and Turf an Manuscripts in China

I Investigations of Dunhuang and Turfan Manuscripts owend by Libraries and Museums in China.
(1)We could understand the collection of Dunhuang Manuscripts owned by the Historical Museum of the Tianjing City and the Library of the Xibei University. Those Manuscripts are sutras and we got the information about means of acquisition at the Library of the Xibei University.
(2)We confirmed that the Library of Shanxi Province and the Museum of Hebei Province don't have the Dunhuang Manuscripts by evidences and datebases. And we also confirmed that the Library of the Heilongjiang Province and the Museum of Shanxi Province, we believe they own the Dunhuang Manuscripts, don't have by evidences.
(3)We knew that the Shanxi Teacher's School own the Dunhuang Manuscripts in the Faculty of History.
(4)We could inspect and take a Photograph of Dunhuang Manuscripts in the Library of the Beijing University. Especially the Photographes of epilogues and stamps are very useful for our studies.
II Study about Dunhuang and Turfan Manuscripts
(1)The collection of the Research Institute of Dunhuang includes a manuscript in 5th century, the Bei-Wei Period, and it is a very important sample as a old calender.
(2)The collection of the Museum of the Zhejiang Province includes Fu-Ling manuscripts used as receipts. The Research Institute of St.Peterburg in Russia owns Fu-Ling manuscripts. Therefore we can make comparative study of Fu-Ling manuscripts between them, and also we can find out many Fu-Ling manuscripts written in the Tang Period among Turfan Manuscripts. -

・年数次の授業評価アンケートを実施、次期の授業の改善に資する。 ・CEASをほぼすべての授業で活用：自主学習促進のためのwebテスト実施、音声・画面・動画付き教材の提示のほか、毎回の授業内容の記録、出席状況・課題提出状況などの公開を行い、自分自身の学習の取り組みへの姿勢、態度を受講生各自が客観的に反省する材料を示している。 ・TAを活用：導入該当授業の活性化を図ることを主な目的としてTAを導入している。また、TAには指導する大学院生を採用し、外国語教育の現場で各自のテーマに沿って教育実践をさせている。これによって、大学院生の研究テーマの設定に関わる問題点の発見、改善・修正につなげることができるよう併せて指導している。 ・講義課目においてPPTを使用：スタディーアブロードから戻った学生を対象として一部中国語による講義を行っている。

2002年出版の自著初級中国語テキスト『私だけの中国語テキスト』を担当するクラスで適宜参照資料として一部活用している。同時に大学院生の中国語教育教材作成指導に関連資料として提示している。 『中国文化史大事典』(大修館書店 2013.4)の次の8項目執筆 歇後語/經傳釋詞/詞詮/助字辨略/通俗編/馬氏文通/助字/馬建忠 を執筆。
