Devising educational methods

1年次生用の憲法2（基本的人権）においては、前回の授業内容についての知識を確認するため、小テストを、毎回実施している。また、レポートを2回程度実施し、添削したうえで返却し、理解の不十分なところや表現の不正確な点を具体的に指導している。憲法判例百選に収録されている判例を判決原文で読むというスタイルは維持しつつも、授業時間の制約もあり、重点的に扱うものとそうでないものとのメリハリをつけようとしている。 2年次生用の公法総合演習Ⅰ（基本的人権）においては、毎回、任意の事前レポートの提出を求め、それに基づいて添削を加えた参考答案を学生に提示し、学生の陥りやすい間違いや表現上の問題点について具体的に指摘しつつ、授業を進めている。毎回の授業のすすめ方について、もう一人の担当者と毎週、事前打ち合わせの場をもって、内容の統一性をはかり、より適切な教育方法について意見交換をしている。レポートを3回程度実施し、添削したうえで返却している。 3年次生用の公法総合演習Ⅱ（司法制度論）においては、毎回、事前レポートの提出を求め、必要な知識の習得状況の確認、陥りやすい誤りの指摘に努めている。
Teaching materials

憲法2（基本的人権）、公法総合演習Ⅰ（基本的人権）、公法総合演習Ⅱ（司法制度論）については、すべて独自の教材を作成し、それに基づいて授業を行っている。 上記の公法総合演習Ⅰ教材をもとに、村田尚紀・渡辺康行とともに、『事例研究 憲法』（日本評論社 2008年）を編集・出版した。 市川正人・曾和俊文・池田直樹『ケースメソッド 公法［第2版］』（日本評論社 2006年）において、「1 許可制と個人の自由――「淫行」処罰事件」、「5 外国人の人権保障――再入国不許可事件」を分担執筆し、第3版に向けて、分担部分を全面的に改訂した。 播磨信義・上脇博之・脇田吉隆・渡辺洋とともに、旧版を全面的に書き改めた『新・どうなっている！？日本国憲法［第2版］』（法律文化社 2009年）を編集、出版した。

『ロースクール研究』第9号（民事法研究会 2008年3月）に収録された「特集 法総括 新司法試験－第1回・第2回から何がみえるか」「① 新司法試験と法科大学院教育の適合性」と題する座談会に、名古屋大学大学院法学研究科 千葉 恵美子教授、大阪大学大学院高等司法研究科 水谷 規男氏とともに参加した（（司会）日本弁護士連合会法曹養成対策室室長・弁護士 中西 一裕氏）。
